Make It Yours: Customize Your Workflow

Now that you've seen Nekst work with a sample workflow, shape it to match how you run deals. Your workflow is a living process, not a one-and-done setup — you build the foundation once, then keep improving it as your business grows. The better your workflow gets, the more each uploaded contract does for you automatically.

You don't have to start over. Customize a sample workflow rather than building from scratch.

What you can change

• Rename or rewrite tasks to match your terminology
• Add or remove tasks so the workflow covers your exact process
• Rewrite emails and SMS in your own voice
• Adjust due dates — set any task to a number of days before or after a key date
• Fine-tune each task — adjust for weekends, mark tasks as private or as key dates, add descriptions, and more

Link tasks to your contract dates

This is what makes the automation work. When you link a task to a contract date (a Detail Box), the task adjusts itself automatically every time Nekst AI reads a contract.

1. Open a task and find the Link to Detail Box dropdown.
2. Choose the contract date this task depends on (e.g., Inspection Deadline).
3. Set the offset — for example, 2 days before Inspection Deadline.

Now whenever you upload a contract, this task lands on the right date for that specific deal. More on linking and dependent tasks.

Use SmartTags in your emails

SmartTags pull contract details straight into your messages, so you never retype a name, address, or date.

Add a SmartTag anywhere in an email or SMS — the buyer's name, the closing date, the property address — and Nekst fills it in from the extracted contract data when you're ready to send. See SmartTags.
