Task Flags: Mark and Filter Individual Tasks

Task Flags let you tag any task with a colored label of your choosing — High Priority, On Hold, Waiting on Response, Coming Soon, whatever fits how you work. Flags appear as a colored flag icon on each task row and you can filter the Tasks page by any combination of flags.

Flags work like Custom Stages, but for individual tasks instead of whole transactions.

Who can do what

  • Account Owners and Admins — create, rename, recolor, reorder, and delete Flags
  • All team members — apply or clear a flag on any task they can access

Create your Flags

  1. Go to Settings → Setup → Task Flags
  2. Click Add Flag
  3. Type a name, pick a color, and save
  4. Repeat for each flag you want

There is no limit on the number of flags.

Rename, recolor, reorder, or delete a Flag

  1. Go to Settings → Setup → Task Flags
  2. Edit the name or color inline, drag a row to reorder, or click the delete (trash) icon to remove it
  3. Save your changes

Renaming or recoloring a flag updates it everywhere — every task currently using that flag picks up the new name and color automatically. Deleting a flag removes it from every task it was assigned to.

Apply a Flag to a task

From the task row on the Tasks page:

  1. Click the flag icon on the right side of the task row
  2. Pick a flag from the dropdown (or pick Clear flag to remove it)

You can also set or change the flag from inside the task's update form.

The colored flag icon stays visible on the task row so you can see at a glance which tasks are marked.

Filter the Tasks page by Flag

  1. On the Tasks page, click FILTER
  2. Scroll to the FLAGS section
  3. Check the flags you want to see, or check No Flag to include unflagged tasks

The current flag selection appears as a chip in the filter bar above the task list. Click the chip's close button to clear the selection.

Save a flag filter into a Filter Preset

Flag selections round-trip through Saved Filter Presets. Build the view you want, click SAVE PRESET, name it, and the flag selection is part of the preset.

Audit flag changes in History

Every time a task's flag is set, cleared, or changed, Nekst writes a record to that task's history and to the project activity feed. Open any task or transaction's History page to see who changed what and when, with the previous and new flag color and name.

Notes

  • One flag per task at a time.
  • Flags are team-wide — every member of your Nekst account sees the same flags and the same assignments.
  • Available to every team automatically — no setup or toggle required.
