Adding, Editing & Shifting Tasks

Adding tasks

Click + Add a Task at the top of any Workflow or Transaction.

Editing tasks

To edit a task on a launched transaction, click its title to open the task box. You can change the Task Name, Due Date, assigned role/person, Task Description, Key Date, Portal Roadmap, Private status, and more.

Shifting a whole workflow when a date changes

A few situations call for shifting your tasks:

  • The closing date changed and all closing-based tasks need to move
  • The wrong Start Date was used and every deadline needs to shift
  • The wrong End Date was selected

To fix it:

  1. On the Transactions page, open the transaction.
  2. Click Open…Transaction Setup.

  1. Adjust the Start Date, End Date, Status, Name, or Type.

  1. Click Update. When you change a Start or End Date, Nekst asks if you want to shift all dates to match — confirm to realign every task.

Tip: If a task's date was manually changed after launch, it won't shift when you change the Start or End Date — that's intentional, so dates you set by hand (e.g., from an addendum) stay put. To move the closing, change only the End Date — don't also hand-edit the Closing Date — and the closing tasks shift automatically.

Removing all tasks from a transaction

  1. Open the transaction and click All to show every task.
  2. Clear any filters at the top of the list.
  3. Click the Mass Update checkbox, choose Select All, then Delete.
