Designating a Primary Agent on a Transaction

The Primary Agent feature lets you tag one person per transaction as the lead agent. For coordinators who want to manage transactions and tasks by agent or pull up quick, filtered views on a per-agent basis, this gives you that capability.

The Primary Agent appears as a column on the Transactions list page and can be used to filter your view.

Setting a Primary Agent During Transaction Creation

  1. During Step 5 (Add Team Members & Transaction Parties), you'll see a star icon next to each party
  2. Click the star next to the person you want to designate as Primary Agent
  3. The star turns yellow to confirm the selection
  4. Complete the remaining steps and launch your transaction

The Primary Agent can be a Team Member or a Transaction Party. This covers situations where the agent doesn't have a seat on your team.

Setting a Primary Agent on an Existing Transaction

  1. Open the transaction and locate the Team Members or Transaction Parties list in the right column, next to your transaction tasks
  2. Click the party's name
  3. A detail modal opens where you can:
  • Edit their role
  • Click the star icon to designate them as Primary Agent
  • Remove them from the transaction
  • Navigate to their full contact record
  1. Close the modal when done

Primary Agent Column on the Transactions List

The "Primary Agent" column appears on the Transactions list by default. It shows the name of the designated agent for each transaction.

If you don't need this column, you can hide it through your column settings. Once you save your preferences, your choice is remembered.

Filtering by Primary Agent

You can filter by Primary Agent in three places: the Transactions list, the main Tasks page (/Tasks), and the Tasks tab inside an individual transaction.

  1. Open the filter options on any of those pages
  2. Scroll to the PRIMARY AGENT section at the bottom of the filter panel
  3. Select an agent from the dropdown
  4. The list updates immediately to show only items tied to transactions where that agent is the Primary Agent

Clear the selection or click the filter chip to remove the filter.

Per-agent task views: On the Tasks page, pair the Primary Agent filter with Saved Filter Presets to switch between agent-specific task views with one click.

Notes

  • Only one Primary Agent can be set per transaction
  • If the Primary Agent's last assignment is removed from a transaction, the designation is cleared automatically
  • The Primary Agent can be changed at any time from the party detail modal
  • The Primary Agent dropdown shows only contacts currently designated as Primary Agent on at least one transaction
  • Filter results respect existing visibility rules — you'll only see tasks and transactions you already have access to
  • This feature lays the groundwork for future integrations, allowing third-party tools to connect their deals, loops, or transactions directly to Nekst using the designated Primary Agent as the link
