Emailing Documents into a Transaction
Email Documents Directly into a Transaction
You can email documents (PDF or Word) straight into a Nekst transaction — no more downloading then uploading each file by hand. This works great with e-signature platforms like SkySlope, Dotloop, and DocuSign.
How it works
Every transaction in Nekst has a unique email address. Email a supported file to that address and Nekst automatically adds the document to the right transaction.

Finding the transaction email address
- Open the transaction.
- Click Open… and select Documents.
- Under the Transaction Name, copy the unique email address (use the Copy Upload Email button or the file icon).
- Use that address when sending or forwarding files.
Example format: peHFCpzr.8s4porF5@documents.nekst.com

Supported file types
- PDF (.pdf)
- Microsoft Word (.doc / .docx)
- OpenDocument Text (.odt)
- Rich Text Format (.rtf)
What happens when you send an email
Scenario | Result |
|---|---|
One attachment | File is uploaded and labeled based on the email subject (if it matches an existing label). |
Multiple attachments | All supported files are uploaded with no labels. |
Unsupported files only | You receive a bounce-back: "No attachments found." |
File too large (>25 MB) | Large files are skipped; smaller files in the same email are still processed. |
Invalid transaction email | The message bounces with "Team not found" or "Project not found." |
Tips for success
- Keep each file under 25 MB.
- Use a simple subject line if you want to apply a label to a single document.
- You can send files from any email address, including automated systems like Dotloop or SkySlope.
- Uploaded documents typically appear within 30–60 seconds.

Example use cases
- Forward signed contract documents from Dotloop directly into Nekst.
- Have inspection reports sent from your client straight into the transaction.
- Add the transaction email as a CC on every DocuSign envelope so signed documents auto-load.
Notifications
When a document is received, Nekst creates an in-app notification confirming the upload.

Troubleshooting
If a document doesn't appear in Nekst:
- Confirm the transaction email address is correct.
- Verify the file type (PDF or Word).
- Check the file size (under 25 MB).
- Look for a bounce-back message that explains what went wrong.
