Where Are My Tasks?

Where Are My Tasks?

You logged in expecting a task list, and instead you're looking at an empty screen. Don't worry — your work isn't gone. An empty task list almost always comes down to one of four causes. Walk through them in order, and you'll find your tasks.

1. The transaction doesn't have a workflow yet

Creating a transaction doesn't create any tasks by itself — tasks come from the workflow you add to the transaction. If you created a transaction but skipped that step, there's simply nothing on the list yet.

The fix: open the transaction and add a workflow. If you're brand new, the fastest path is creating your transaction from a contract — Nekst AI fills in the details and your workflow's tasks schedule themselves around your real dates. You can also add a workflow to an existing transaction at any time.

2. Your tasks don't have due dates

Task pages in Nekst are organized around dates — so a task without a due date won't show up under Due Today or Past Due. Instead, undated tasks collect in the No Due Date section.

The fix: scroll to the No Due Date section of your task list (or check the All view). Assign due dates to anything that should be on your calendar.

3. A filter is applied

If you previously filtered your task list — by team member, transaction, or anything else — that filter may still be active, quietly hiding everything that doesn't match.

The fix: click the Filter button at the top of the task list and clear or reset your filters.

4. You're on a team account

On a Team Pro account, the default view shows only the tasks assigned to you. If the tasks you're looking for are assigned to a different role or teammate, they're there — just not in your default view.

The fix: click Filter and select the team members whose tasks you want to see.

One more team note: Team Members only see the transactions they've been assigned to. If you just joined a team and your screen is empty, you likely haven't been added to a transaction yet — ask your account owner or a Team Administrator to add you. More on how that works: The Basics of Assigning Tasks.

Still can't find them?

Send us a chat message — the blue bubble in the bottom corner of your screen — and we'll track them down with you.
