Custom Signatures for Any Agent or Contact
Nekst now supports contact based email signatures, allowing you to insert a signature that belongs to a specific contact instead of the email sender.
This is especially useful for Transaction Coordinators who send emails on behalf of different agents and want the signature to reflect the agent they are assisting.
What is a Contact Signature?
A Contact Signature is a rich HTML signature saved directly on a contact record.
Instead of using your personal sender signature, you can insert a signature tied to a specific contact, such as a Buyer Agent or Listing Agent, at the bottom of an email.
This signature has nothing to do with who sends or receives the email. It is purely based on the contact assigned to the transaction.
When to Use a Contact Signature
This feature is most commonly used by Transaction Coordinators who want emails to appear as if they are being sent on behalf of an agent.
For example, instead of using:
#sender.signature
You can insert:
#contacts.buyerAgent.signature
This allows the email to show the agent’s branded signature while still being sent from the TC’s email account.
How to Add a Signature to a Contact
- In the Contacts page Open the Contact record
- Locate the Signature field
- Paste or build the signature using rich HTML
- Save the contact
The signature field supports images and is designed to minimize unnecessary spacing so signatures appear clean and compact when emails are sent.

How to Insert a Contact Signature into an Email
Inside any email editor in Nekst, insert the appropriate SmartTag where you want the signature to appear.
Example:
#contacts.buyerAgent.signature
When the email is sent, Nekst will automatically replace the SmartTag with the signature from the assigned contact.

What if Multiple Contacts Share the Same Role?
If more than one contact is assigned the same role, Nekst will insert each signature in order.
To avoid duplication, you can create a custom role for the second contact, such as:
- Buyer Agent Two
- Co-Buyer Agent
Then use a different SmartTag for each role.
Important Notes
- Contact Signatures are not tied to the email sender
- They do not change based on who receives the email
- They work like other contact based SmartTags
- HTML formatting is supported, including images
- If have a SmartTag used for a contact Signature, like #contacts.listingAgent.signature BUT you have no added a Transaction Party with that Role -or- No Signature has been setup, a value of "N/A" will appear
- You can always swap your signature back in place using the SmartTag #sender.signature
