# Accounting for Holidays

Nekst lets you automatically adjust deadlines to account for **Federal Holidays** in the US or Canada.

When this feature is enabled, all deadlines that fall on a Federal Holiday are pushed out by **one additional day**.

| Only turn this on if your contract specifically exempts holidays from deadlines. If your contracts don't exempt holidays, leave it off so your deadlines stay accurate.

## How to enable Holiday adjustments

1. Go to your [Holidays Observed settings](https://app.nekst.com/settings/holidays).
2. Select your country (**United States** or **Canada**).
3. Nekst will automatically shift deadlines for recognized Federal Holidays going forward.
